Actor Kanan A Malhotra Showcases His Tabla Skills in ‘Punyashlok Ahilyabai’
Talented actor Kanan A Malhotra, known for his role as Gunojirao in the historical television drama ‘Punyashlok Ahilyabai,’ is set to delight audiences with his tabla-playing skills in an upcoming episode of the show. The versatile actor, who is a trained tabla player, is thrilled to have the chance to introduce his musical talent to a wider audience through national television.
Reflecting on this exciting opportunity in a recent interview, Kanan A Malhotra expressed his gratitude, saying, “I’m a trained Tabla player. By God’s grace, I enjoyed the opportunity to play the Tabla for an upcoming episode in the show. I could find a way to introduce my talent to the audience on the national TV screen. I feel fortunate about it. I’m happy and thankful to the makers of the show, and most importantly our creative director, Tushar Bhardwaj, who actually knew about my talent and wanted me to pursue it professionally. I’m glad that people enjoyed my play during the shoot and appreciated me for the same.”
Kanan’s journey into music began in his childhood, as he reminisced, “I learned to play tabla in my childhood. I remember my parents wanted me to learn singing, and I took admission in singing classes. But it was my singing teacher who suggested my parents make me learn to play an instrument. I used to give rhythm to the songs sung by my teacher during the classes. So he knew that I could play a musical instrument. After some time, I decided to learn tabla, and my parents supported me. I learned to play the tabla from my Guruji Salim Khan and later pursued graduation in tabla from an institute located in Connaught Place, New Delhi.”
The actor also shared his enthusiasm for resuming his practice on the musical instrument, indicating his enduring passion for music. Kanan A Malhotra’s unique talent adds another layer of depth to his already impressive career, and fans of ‘Punyashlok Ahilyabai’ can look forward to witnessing his tabla-playing prowess on the show.
