Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame Bhavya Gandhi shares pictures of Chandrayaan-3 achieving historic lunar landing, leaving indelible imprints of India’s Heritage on the Moon

The historic Chandrayaan-3 mission accomplished its goal of demonstrating secure lunar landing and surface roving capabilities by making a successful touchdown on the Moon’s south pole. Beyond its scientific data collection objectives, this project holds a symbolic significance that goes beyond the realm of exploration.

The Pragyan rover, a key component of the mission, not only carries scientific instruments but also bears the emblem of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the national emblem. The national emblem depicts the Lion Capital of Ashoka at Sarnath, serving as a representation of India’s presence and heritage on the lunar surface. Notably, the rover’s design incorporates a wheel with the embossed emblem, which will leave a lasting impression on the Moon as the rover traverses its surface.

In a remarkable demonstration of this achievement, Bhavya Gandhi, known for his role in “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,” took to Instagram to share an image of the emblem’s imprint on the Moon. Alongside the image, he captioned, “To moon and beyond! @isro.in #chandrayan3 23-8-23.” The gesture garnered prideful responses from fans who likened the sight to the moon flaunting the tricolor of the Indian flag and exclaimed, “Now we have our emblem on the moon.”

ISRO itself shared visuals of the rover on the lunar surface, affirming, “The Ch-3 Rover ramped down from the Lander and India took a walk on the moon!”

Highlighting the specifics of Chandrayaan-3’s landing, the Indian Space Research Organisation’s mission concluded a 40-day journey that began at the Sathish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. On August 23, the Vikram lander achieved a gentle lunar landing at 6.04 PM IST. ISRO captured the soft landing in an image, showcasing a portion of Chandrayaan-3’s landing site. The image also reveals a leg of the lander and its accompanying shadow, showcasing the carefully chosen flat region on the lunar surface where Chandrayaan-3 touched down.

The successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 carries immense significance not only for the aerospace industry but also for India’s enduring legacy in space exploration, as the nation leaves an indelible mark on the moon’s surface.
